The digital security landscape is going through a critical moment in Argentina. According to the 2026 edition of CertiSur's annual Digital Security Perception report, online hacking and fraud continued their upward trend, reaching 43% of users (compared to 33% in 2025 and 31% in 2024).
The main threat remains identity spoofing (phishing), carried out mainly through WhatsApp and Telegram (31%), email (23%) and phone calls (20%). However, this phenomenon directly affects organizations: impersonating trusted brands and companies to deceive customers ranks among the main attack methods reported by victims. This vulnerability not only exposes people to scams or data theft, but also severely erodes institutional reputation and trust in corporate digital channels.
Digital contracting is growing, but doubts persist about authenticity and legal backing
CertiSur's study indicates that digital contracting continues its adoption curve: 81% of Argentines understand what an online contract is and 43% have already created or received one (15 points more than the previous year). In addition, 74% express general trust in digital signature platforms.
However, behind this widespread use lies a marked lack of protection and uncertainty regarding the authenticity of digital notifications and documents:
- Difficulty detecting alterations: 59% of people admit they could not (or are not sure they could) tell whether a digital contract or document is authentic and has not been tampered with.
- Lack of certainty about receipt and acceptance: 58% do not know how to verify whether the counterparty or recipient formally accepted the document sent.
- Unawareness of complaint channels: 80% do not know what steps to follow to file a formal complaint if a notification was not formally received.
This combination of factors, where customers doubt whether a message really comes from their insurer and lack mechanisms to verify contracts, calls for solutions that restore operational and identity certainty.
The technological response: protected identity and reliable digital evidence
To neutralize brand impersonation and guarantee the integrity of corporate communications, CertiSur's certified digital communications are positioned as a strategic solution to protect interactions between insurers, policyholders and suppliers.
By certifying the sender's identity and guaranteeing non-repudiation of the content, the tool prevents malicious third parties from impersonating the brand to policyholders, while providing indisputable legal backing.
In this regard, Néstor Markowicz, CEO of CertiSur, explains the advantages of replacing traditional channels or conventional emails with proven electronic notifications:
“These certifications make it possible to send electronic notifications with proven legal value, replacing traditional means such as postal mail or registered letters. It is a service already used globally and designed especially for sectors such as finance, insurance, healthcare, legal and public services, where document management must be 100% reliable and auditable.”
This solution generates complete digital evidence covering proof of sending, delivery, reading and content integrity, with full evidentiary value both internationally (eIDAS framework) and under the Argentine regulatory framework, backed by the Digital Signature Law (25,506) and the Argentina Digital Law (27,078).
Strategic application in the insurance sector
For the insurance industry, where disputes over claims, forgeries or lack of notification are recurrent, certified communication provides a legal shield in critical transactions:
- Brand protection: assures users that the communication (due dates, notices, renewals) legitimately comes from their insurer and not from a scammer.
- Acceptance or rejection of claims: provides reliable proof of receipt and the exact date of the decision.
- Collections and coverage: legally safeguards payment demands, suspension notices and contract cancellations.
- Policy changes: certifies the delivery and acceptance of new clauses and endorsements.
In a scenario where brand impersonation and cyber scams jeopardize customer relationships, insurance companies must get ahead of reputational and legal risks. Adopting certified communication technologies makes it possible to protect corporate identity, ensure document authenticity and immutability, and offer policyholders the legal certainty and integrity that today's digital market demands.
