CertiSur, in favor of the market

CertiSur strengthens digital trust in Latin America with digital signing, SSL/TLS certificate automation, and VMC and C2PA standards against email and AI fraud.

Certisur, a favor del mercado

CertiSur, a company with more than 25 years in IT security in Argentina and the region, today focuses not only on providing innovative digital signing and certificate solutions, but also on promoting market advancement. That's why every year it hires the D'Alessio IROL consulting firm to generate a study on 'User Security Perception' that helps raise awareness and guide the actions of the ICT industry. What's coming next? VMC certificates, to distinguish authentic emails from fakes, and C2PA solutions, to protect content, especially visual content, like real photos versus those generated with AI. Important news: demand for digital signing has grown this year.

Says Armando Carratalá, managing partner of CertiSur: 'Today we are focused on expanding our portfolio to meet the new market demands and help users gain confidence in their digital communications and operations. One of the main conclusions of the D'Alessio IROL study was that given so many experiences of hacks and fraud, building trust with customers and users is a differentiating value. That's why new tools are needed that give them peace of mind and thus deploy everything new that is emerging'.

'Digital signing solutions are one of the main responses to this reality. We must take this step in favor and continue expanding and integrating tools. The good thing is that as signing gains volume, it enables new developments like the creation of communities, which increase consumption. CertiSur seeks to be a leader and accompany development'.

'Something important that points to strengthening user confidence is VMC/CMC certificates, which when a company incorporates them allows their logo to appear in all their emails in a standard format when they reach recipients, unlike fakes where only letters are seen. It's something nascent in Latin America, it's being incorporated, but in the world they're already making an important difference since a significant portion of fraud circulates through regular emails. They impersonate banks, telcos, insurers, etc.'

'The same can be said about the C2PA standard, given the avalanche of videos and images that circulate on networks today and you don't know if they are original or not, with AI it's almost impossible to differentiate them when they're well done. These tools include identification in the photos, to identify whether the origin is genuine or not'.

'Where is CertiSur heading? 'As I mentioned: toward having an increasingly broad and comprehensive portfolio that allows us to support industry evolution. Today we are going through one of the biggest changes in SSL/TLS certificates: until recently their duration could be three years, but the CAB Forum (the global entity that governs them) has decided to progressively shorten their validity for security. Starting this year they last 200 days, in 2027 they will be only 100 days and so on until reaching 47 days. Whether they like it or not, companies that manage certificates need automation solutions for their management, which we are leading. There are times of great activity and challenges ahead'.
